MADISON + JUSTIN: ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA WEDDING
I have known Madison and Justin for years, and was lucky enough to photograph their sweet, laid-back, winter wedding. Madison and Justin met when they were fourteen, and that young love evolved for many years leading to their union on January 14, 2017. Justin forged their rings by hand with his brother in law, and Madison chose fragrant sage as their wedding flora. All of their wedding day festivities took place close by the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. To kick off festivities, they met their guests at Black Wall Hitch for a spirited cocktail hour. Then the entire group walked to the pier. Their mid-winter outdoor ceremony could not have been more perfect or unique. It softly rained, the river was calm, and birds flew by. Spirits were high, there was lots of laughter, and everyone was cozied up to loved ones. The rain grew heavier right at the end of the ceremony. The entire troupe grabbed umbrellas, and hurried to Il Porto for a lively dinner, merriment, and dancing. Congratulations Madison and Justin!
Megan + Zach: Countryside Brunch Wedding
Megan and Zach were married June 3, 2017 at L'auberge Provencale. The day started with greetings from the Inn's resident kitty who was a sweet stand in for Megan and Zach's cat at home. The couple had a sweet first look, and walked joyfully together through the orchard and fields on the property. It was hard to catch them not laughing! After the beautiful sunny ceremony facing the Blue Ridge, the couple greeted their guests and brunch cocktails begun. The hors d'oeuvres were a visual parade. The dream brunch {breakfast} foods of waffles and quiche were served for the meal. Then to finish the feast their cake was a traditional french wedding cake: a Croquembouche surrounded by spun sugar and violets. This wedding day was endlessly sweet, and I loved every moment. Congratulations Megan & Zach!

EMILY + HARRY: ELEGANT GARDEN BBQ WEDDING
Emily and Harry hold a special place in my heart. They were one of the first couples to book with me when I moved back to the east coast, and I so admire their passion for life. They both were getting their masters, moving, and traveling all over while planning their wedding. The wedding festivities took place at The River Farm: home of the American Horticultural Society, so the entire property is breathtaking. Emily and Harry started the day with a private first look in a shaded glade they had chosen together. Then they walked to a large old Dogwood tree to read letters they had written to each other. For the ceremony they both took the arms of their parents, and walked down the aisle to violin played by a friend. Their soccer coach from highschool married them with a sweet, personalized ceremony. For the rest of the night they reunited with loved ones from all over, ate delicious BBQ, and danced. It was such a joy to see their day come alive with beauty and love. Congratulations Emily and Harry!
GARY + KATIE : VIRGINIA ANNIVERSARY SESSION
Katie and Gary were married five years ago. They were young and did not have official wedding photographs taken, so for their anniversary they decided to take the opportunity to get their wedding portraits. I love when couples continue to honor each other past the wedding day. The day can be beautiful, but creating a beautiful life together is truly what we should celebrate. I met these two down by the water on a sunny evening at Jones Point Park in Alexandria, Virginia, and loved every minute of working with them!
KATEY + CASEY: LAKE ANNA ENGAGEMENTS
These two free-spirited lovers invited me to their family's home on Lake Anna in Mineral, Virginia for their engagement session. They spent time here early on in their relationship, and wanted to honor their history together and love for the outdoors. Before Katey and Casey got engaged they quit their jobs and took a road trip across the country exploring, hiking, and camping every night. Now they are getting married in May, and are planning on building a tiny home soon after. I love it when people truly follow their hearts like these two!
KAROLINA + GORDON: DC ELOPEMENT
Katrina and Gordon have such a romantic, love knows-no-borders love story. Katrina is Polish, and Gordon is an American. They met in Poland years ago, and eloped on the first day of Spring here in Washington, DC. In just a few months they will move to Asia together. On their wedding day, we walked around the tidal basin where the cherry blossoms were beginning to bloom, and then headed to Virginia for their sweet, intimate ceremony. Cheers to love pure and simple!
HEALEY + ALLIE: SHENANDOAH ELOPEMENT
Healey and Allie booked me to photograph their DC wedding in the spring. During the planning process they decided the big wedding to-do was not for them. They opted for an October elopement in the Shenandoah Mountains. Healey made her bouquet , and they both purchased their accoutrements from small makers on etsy. Their wedding day was simple, authentic, and full of laughter! I am so grateful to have been part of such a sweet, love-filled day.
DANIELLE + LOUIE: OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA WEDDING
Danielle and Louie were highschool sweethearts, who separated when they graduated. Since then they reunited, got engaged, and had a gorgeous, intimate wedding at the Kimpton Morrison House in Old Town Alexandria. Their wedding stood out to me because of the beautiful supportive family they had surrounding them. After the ceremony and cocktail hour, one long elegantly dressed table is where everyone gathered to feast, drink, and celebrate. I met Danielle back in middleschool and had not seen for many, many years. She found me through instagram, and it was such a joy to be able to see her so happy with her wonderful husband. Cheers to Danielle and Louie!
