Brittany and Ben have been together since they were sixteen. The two Mainers are now both teachers in New York City, and when they decided to get married, they knew it had to be in their home state of Maine. Their Garden Gate at Haley Farm wedding took place during peak leaves in October. It seemed as though every tree at the property was in full, vivid color. Garden Gate is an exceptional venue as it allows the option of staying overnight in the farmhouse, allowing everything to unfold on site. This created a cozy full house for the getting ready festivities.
There is a short trail to the forest from the house and barn where the ceremony took place. The long processional of the bridal party created a festive energy. The couple chose to wait until the ceremony to see each other, and when Brittany entered the forest glade, there was a swell of emotion. Ben’s father guided the ceremony with joy and grace. The colors of the forest created an Autumnal halo around the entire event. Brittney and Ben shared laughter and tears as they read their vows and then said I do. The bride and groom led the processional back through the forest. It was a mirthful sight to see everyone dance back up the trail.
As afternoon turned into evening, the barn created an enchanting ambiance for dinner with its glowing chandeliers and long banquet tables. It was indeed a day filled with beauty and love, and it was my honor to capture it as their Maine wedding photographer.
Congratulations, Brittany and Ben!
